In Rowlesburg, the Stage Door Canteen, a new European-style cafe, along with the WWII Museum are open on weekends in the summer and fall. Eat authentic Belgium waffles prepared to order. Ice cream and other desserts are served along with various coffees and soft drinks. Check with the owners for reservations at Maggie's Cottage, a fully furnished guest cottage in Rowlesburg. Hungry visitors on the run can always grab a sandwich or pizza at Bells Grocery on Buffalo Street. In the summer, it's great fun to have lunch at the Park. The snack bar is open for lunch and dinner. Two restaurants are nearby at Macomber on Route 50-Ayersmans (breakfast) and Cool Springs. A bit farther, going east on Route 50 is Melanie's at Cathedral State Park. |
