Rowlesburg's Riverside Park
The Rowlesburg Community Park is a multi-acre riverside public space with two baseball fields, a lighted walking path, basketball court, tennis court, picnic pavilions and a summer concession stand serving great food. During the summer, the Park is booked with reunions, picnics and parties. Because of the deep valley, bicycle road riders find a paradise of paved mountain roads to test their mettle. Cheat Mountain rises from 1400 feet in Rowlesburg to 3000 feet just 10 miles east.

The Rowlesburg Park is a great place to stage bicyling tours, whitewater events and fishing. This year the Appalachian Bicycle Racing Association will stage two events at the Park: West Virginia State Road Racing Championships on August 14th. The WV State Time Trial Race will be there as well. That will be an Out & Back race up WV 72. The date for that event is Sept. 18th.

The Park concession stand is open in the summer, offering great things to eat. Don't miss the famous Labor Day Weekend Celebration in Rowlesburg, featuring Railroad Reunion Day, Pedal and Paddle Day and the big Ox Roast. For more information call 304-454-2441.
The Park is a regional asset used by many surrounding towns. One of many beautiful gardens in the Park.
The pavilions are often booked months ahead for reunions. The "Flower Girls" have planted dozens of gardens all over town.
